Our Governors

Following is some short Following is some short information about each of our governors:


 Kerry Bryant – LA representative (2021 – 2025)
Member of Curriculum and Resources Committees
Kerry previously worked at Greenside as a teaching assistant.  She has over 20 years experience in learning and development working for a wide range of private and public sector organisations.
Kerry is currently employed by the charity MIND and has a particular interest in the wellbeing of learners, staff, and families.  
Claire-Louise Budge - Parent Governor (2022-2026)
Member of Resources Committee

I have supported the school for 4 years, making up hampers for the school raffle, which has been successful. I am keen to continue to support the school and pupils in the years to come and help the school grow. I have experience in finance and having SEND child myself I can relate to parents concerns and work with all to get the best from the school for the community that use it.
Sally Glossop- Co-opted governor (2022-2026)
Member of Curriculum Committee

I am the County Lead for SEND Implementation and Statutory Assessment.  I am committed to making a difference for children with SEND. I have worked in special education for 40 years and in a wide range of roles including being a deputy head and head teacher.  I want to open up the world for all of our children and young people.

Jo McNamara- Parent Governor (2024-2028)
Member of Resources Committee

Jo became a parent governor in January 2017, she has three children, Harry her middle child has attended Greenside since January 2016. Jo works as a Registered Manager for Hertfordshire’s Safeguarding and Specialist service and has worked with children from 0-18 with varying needs for 15 years. Jo is also a registered assessor working in childcare settings assessing across qualifications and supporting learners to develop their skills within schools, residential homes and early years provisions.
Dave Smith- Co-opted Governor – Chair of Governors

Currently Chair of Governors at Greenside. Previously parent governor and vice chair of governors at Heathcote school since 1999 until it closed. I am currently a Paramedic with the London Ambulance Service and in my spare time I enjoy dog walking and exploring around the UK in my Campervan
Claire Streets Parent Governor (2022-2026)

I've been a Greenside parent for 9 years but have been involved with the school for 11 years as a volunteer. Since having my two children I changed career from financial services to work in education, spending 6 years in a mainstream school and have worked at Greenside part time for 4 years. I continue to volunteer at Greenside School and within the community.
Alex Tomkins– Head teacher Greenside School.
Term of office from January 2024– ongoing

Alex became a member of the Greenside governing body in January 2024, when he was appointed as Headteacher. Alex had previously been Head of Spring Common, where he had also been a governor. Alex has extensive experience in special education. Alex has a Master Degree in Education and is currently completing a EdD in Education with the University of Derby.
